Farhan Thobani is based in the Vancouver office. Originally from Calgary, he holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary, and obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in 2007 while working in the audit and assurance department for KPMG.
Following his qualification, Farhan spent several years working in the natural resource sector followed by a move to Vancouver in 2009 where he expanded his experience to include the engineering and technology sectors. These positions spanned junior startups to large multinationals. “Throughout my career I have had the opportunity to work with companies at different phases of growth across a wide range of industries.
Being exposed to these situations has allowed me to gain a strong understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities that our clients face. This understanding helps us to develop tailor made strategies and solutions that fit with our client’s needs.”
In addition to his audit background, Farhan’s expertise also includes multi-currency consolidations, internal controls (Bill 198 and Sarbanes-Oxley), forecasting, budgeting, and performance measurement. Farhan also has a strong interest in technology, having worked with a startup that was accepted into a startup incubator program.
Outside the office Farhan is an avid traveller having visited over 30 countries.
